This week Inc. Magazine announced the annual Inc. 500, which lists the top Private Companies in the U.S. It’s always a good place to watch for that next “big thing”.

Along with the annual top 500, Inc. also publishes an extension called “the Inc. 5000″. I’m proud to announce that OnlineGURU made it as #932, which means, we only missed the main list by 433!

I’m not sure how I stumbled upon this list of Seattle Startups
, but I spent quite a bit of time scouring through it. I love seeing what people have going on. If you get some spare time you should check some of these companies out. Who knows there might be the next ________ in this list.

Where do you think they come up with some of these names… Avvo?

In case you don’t have time to get through all of them I’ll highlight a few you should check out.

• Programmable Web - a personal favorite of mine. This site has pretty much been the go to resource for watching the mashup revolution take hold.
• Avvo - A site to help you find the right lawyer… (I think we might have been talking about this recently) Good job Avvo, I think you got something here.
• BizNik - “Business Networking that Doesn’t Suck”. I dig the tag line, but at this time I can’t confirm nor’ deny if thats true.
• Earth Class Mail - My personal favorite. I’m not going to even try and describe what they do, check out their site as they have a good explanation. I’ve bounced this off a few people and I haven’t found anyone with my same enthusiasm. I think its rad… does anyone know how they do it?
