Favorite Places in San Diego

I was thinking, "wow, Shauna and I have really done some fun stuff in the past 8 months or so". We get out often, and have really found some cool spots in and around San Diego. I hope you can enjoy some of the places and stuff below.

Resorts and Spas

  • Estancia La Jolla - stayed at the resort, ate at both restaraunts and received a much needed massage at the spa. ★★★★★
  • Las Rocas - While not quite in San Diego, its a quick 45 minutes drive south in Mexico. I've stayed here 4 times and I love it. Highly recommended, tell them DonSon.org sent you! Actually... on second thought, don't mention that you know me.

Restaurants

  • The Crab Catcher, La Jolla - very romantic and good food. I'd recommend calling for reservations and requesting a seat on the outside deck over looking La Jolla cove.
  • Barebacks Grill - When I'm looking for a burger and a beer, this is my spot. It's New Zealand style burgers, whatever that means. It's really too bad that then name is also a term for some sort of dirty maneuver... guess something didn't translate well.

Getting Outside

  • Morley Field Disc Golf Course - Nice course in Balboa park. There is a $3 green fee, but its totally worth it.
  • Torrey Pines Glider Port - Wow, I've never seen anything quite like this before. High up on a cliff overlooking Blacks Beach is this little building that runs the operation. People leap off this crazy cliff in paragliders and hang-gliders. It's crazy gnarly super extreme bro bra stuff.
